You can save yourself a lot of time and errors by importing elements/descriptions from the documentation to the schedule rather than looking and typing.

That's a lot of manual work, Autodesk can automatically generate quantities. No need to input formulas

Greetings, When I attempt to create the wall such as the video host has, my wall fails to show-up, is this a bug or is there some intermittent step I missed? I am amble to draw the line like he does but the 3D model doesn't show :( I'm going to start at the beginning again and see if I missed something ( will delete this comment if that's the case, other wise HELP!) lol

I really wish FreeCad had advanced on Bim and Arch stuf, we are on Autodesk and Graphisoft Claws with subscription stuff for bug sftware.

Just the idea of being able to place quick-draw Blender assets in parameterized containers is so enabling! I think this will become my preferred framework for architectural design.

Hi, i'm trying to learn FreeCAD in versiosn 0.21. I imported the DXF files, but the FreeCAD recognize the objects like blocks. (Shape, Shape001, Shape002... and so on). What i have done wrong?

I'm looking for a tutorial starting from scratch. Setting lines, constrictions, angles, inserting bodies etc. Not starting from an existing drawing. The goal is to draw a floorbase. Can anyone help?

BIM doesn't work in Freecad 2023-08-18 Ifcopenshell can't be installed. Tried everything I could find on the web.

I think that walls should not be a single element. even if the basis is a polyline, then the product is separate walls for each segment of the polyline. then you can set the orientation of individual segments (right-center-left) and change the height.. the main thing is that the segments of the walls should be able to combine the correct angles

I came to this video looking for info about how a beginner might use FreeCAD for designing structures, but I had no idea what a "BIM" might be, and the video didn't explain, so I had to look it up. For anyone else who doesn't know: "BIM" stands for *"Building Information Modeling",* a rather cryptic term which, as the Wiki describes it, is a _"process involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places. BIM is supported by various tools, technologies and contracts. Building information models (BIMs) are computer files...which can be extracted, exchanged or networked to support decision-making regarding a built asset."_ Not exactly an intuitive explanation. I _think_ what it means is *a broad category of computer files that all relate to **_some_** aspect of a building's make-up, from the structural files of the building at the macro end, to files for fabricating say, light fixture housings, at the micro end, and all of them being able to be "plugged-in" to the same kind of "master file" for organization.* I would appreciate a (layman-intelligible) correction to this, if I have it wrong. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Building_information_modeling

can I ask you to make tabs in the combo panel: 1 3D MODEL (as it is now) 2 PROJECTIONS (floors, sections, isometries, perspectives) - a separate document, working in which you can edit a 3D model.and add new information (texts, 2d objects, pictures, etc.) 3 VIEW - these are projection display settings (line thickness, layer combinations, object color, scale) one projection can be designed in different saved views: all objects are gray in one view, and on the other - the same objects are divided into groups by some attribute: one is red, and the rest are white 4. SHEET: this is a space template in which you can insert a frame or a logo or a picture.. 5 PAGE: this... a unique document, for which a previously created SHEET is selected as a sub-basis. On such a page, you need to compose VIEWS, texts and other 2D objects, add a number ___ you can give a task. we have a local initiative group here. we will try to help =)

please tell me what size of the bubble should be indicated at the axes: according to the norm, we have 8 mm. but the plan and the facade can be on different scales. how to make the same bubble on the sheet at both 1:50 and 1:100 scales at the axis and so that it is readable in 3D

please tell me how to select the desired line with the mouse if it coincides with another line? maybe there is a button that changes the selection (as it is done in archicad - you hover over the object and press TAB until the desired one is highlighted)

Еще проблема: если делать стену ifc сразу в нужном уровне из булева объекта, то объект сохраняется ииполучается дублированным со стеной. Поэтому сейчас надо делалать не в этаже, а в корневом каталоге. И только после созлания ifc переносить в этаж. Неплохо бы пофиксить..

Как может быть такое, что план здания находится в общей модели, а не как отдельный вид/окно/документ?!

About dimensions: what are 3D dimensions for? How would you use it? In a practical sense, what is their idea? In the display projection? If there is a font on the sheet, then how is the font in 3D the same as on the sheet? What are the dimensions? How to change the size, for example, not from the window to the rotation, but from the window to the axis? And then about? Can I add or remove a size to the dimensional chain? Or divide it (it was the length of the house, but it became - from the corner to the axis - to the future axis - to the second corner)?
